Area code locator for North America – AreaCodeLocations.info

areacodelocatorlogo2I just found this great website where you can look up someone’s location based on their area code.  Not something I personally need to do every day, but very handy this morning as I’m calling a client’s students to interview them.  And all I have is their phone numbers and emails.  At 9:15 am Eastern Time, it’s acceptable to call.  If someone’s on the West Coast in Oregon, and it’s 6:15 am for them, they won’t be too pleased.  I’ll wait to call Gene in the Portland, OR area.  He’ll like me better in a few hours ;)

One of the plusses of this website is that it will tell you location based on area code, and it will tell you what time zone it’s in.  I don’t know my Canadian geography as well as I should, so it’s handy to know that Alberta is in the Mountain time zone, 2 hours behind me in Maine.  In this case, Connie will appreciate my having this info.
