Google’s Aladdin’s Cave – Submit Your Content

Submit Your Content.  There it finally is.  The mythical place full of gems that are worth their weight in gold.  Well, more than their physical weight.

This is the place to submit your websites to Google’s search engines so that they will list you in their directories, so that actual people will find and visit your website.

You’d think that Google would want you to do this, but they bury this submission page deep deep deep.

What can you do there?  Submit your URL, Submit a Sitemap, and List Your Business with Google Local.  These are all Good Things, a la Martha Stewart.

Do you run an organization, teach classes, or publicize events?  Here’s a great little calendar plugin to help you.  Caveat: it’s not been updated for 2.6.x.  Add it, test it, it might work if you are up to date.  Admittedly, there are WordPress updates on a frequent basis, so it’s a lot of work for the unpaid volunteers who create OpenSource programs and plugins.  Just use caution, and make backups and revert if necessary.
