Favicon Generator | Make Free Favicons | Create a Favicon.ico Design

Favicon Generator | Make Free Favicons | Create a Favicon.ico Design.

FavIcons are those adorable little graphics that adorn web browser tabs, bookmarks, favorites, and web addresses.  They make it much easier to find the page/site you want to get back to – like a character or hieroglyphic, the graphic image can be grasped by the brain more quickly than reading a bunch of text which tells you the same thing but takes up more space.  Adding a favicon to your website adds polish and professionalism.  Professional web design conveys your company’s image, and a favicon is part of that.

The tricky thing is making one; there are very specific requirements, but using the favicon generator above makes it a snap.  Just upload your image, and they do all the heavy converting.  It only takes seconds.  Try it today!

If it still sounds too annoying, troublesome, or time consuming, call us, and we’ll do it for you!  603-617-4963.

Shopping Carts Compared

October 25th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging, Business Coaching, eCommerce, Marketing, Traffic

Lots of our clients want to have shopping carts.  This is a very good approach to business on the internet, regardless of what kind of product or service you offer, even if you are a non-profit organization.  Once you have a visitor on your site, you want to make the most of the opportunity.  Carpe Diem!

There are many ways to go about this, and they are based on your current website structure and whether you want to add to it, or change it completely.

Below is a list of shopping cart software.  We’ll be updating as we go along, so bookmark this post and check back often.

  • WP eCommerce – plug-in for WordPress.  Takes unflinching tweaking and research, but is great once you get it going.  Integrates nicely with the look and feel of your current site/blog.  Has many limitations, but is great if you want a simple shopping cart without having to shell out $3000 to $30000.  Yes, the number of zeroes is correct.  Some of these shopping cart softwares are exorbitant.  But worth it as an investment when you are a large company.
  • Magento – also OpenSource, but like WP eCommerce, does not handle recurring billing.  Who wants recurring billing?  Wine of the Month clubs, membership sites such as associations, video rentals/exchanges (think Netflix), etc.  Magento has many more features and controls than WP eCommerce, but misses a hot new market – membership sites.
  • MemberWing – allows for “teaser” sections, multiple levels of membership, seems to be free.  Landing page is very unsophisticated.  This is either good, because it’s free, or bad, indicating an overall lack of sophistication.  The levels and teaser ability are good signs.
  • Marketer’s Choice – similar to Shopping Cart 1.  Some of the major information marketers are using this, including Bob Bly.  Autoresponders, affiliate program, recurring billing (which is good for membership sites or subscriptions).
  • Quick Shop – WordPress plugin.  Sounds simple.  Provides sidebar widget shop, products covered in posts or pages.  PayPal or EFT.

Good Press Pages

October 21st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Blogging, Copywriting, Marketing, PR, SEO, Traffic

Central to claiming your place in the online marketing world is having a good Press Page or Media Center. That’s where journalists and regular folk can come and see what others are saying about you and what you are telling the world.  It’s usually found under the about us or company info section.  It works on several levels, including SEO, media coverage, and establishing your company as rock solid and valuable.  It opens opportunities for interviews, speaking engagements, investor engagement, viral video creation, and more.

What should you have in your press page?

Real Question: Do Websites Bring Clients?

Answer: Yes!

Websites are a great way to advertise your company, your services, and to sell your products.

A well-written and well-designed site, blog, or store pre-sells your customers and clients.  Well-written pay-per-click (internet) ads screen viewers so that only those who are actually interested in your products and their prices will click and come through.  This is a smart idea which saves you money, time, and resources.

Here are a few tips for setting up a great website:

  1. Depending on your goals with your site, you most likely need to do additional work in order to drive traffic (visitors) to your site.  This work is SEO, buzz marketing, and advertising.
  2. Costs vary wildly, depending on complexity and functions within the site, the quality of graphics, and the number of pages, content, links, forms, etc.
  3. Words of wisdom: be very very clear about More »
